When it comes to social media, it takes a lot to wow me. Due to the nature of our business, by the time everyone else is on the bandwagon about something, I’ve typically moved on, or it’s become commonplace for me (think Pinterest).

A couple of months ago, I signed up for a service called Timehop and absolutely love it. If you use Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare, and Instagram, you can link any or all of your accounts, and every morning Timehop will send you an email and tell you what you were doing on the current date a year ago. It’s like getting a little time capsule delivered to your inbox every day.

How cool is that?!

For instance, here’s the email that I recently received. During this particular time last year, the bestie and I were on a girls' weekend in Vieques Island, so these reminders are a little tough to swallow … don’t hate.

I love their quirky little closing remarks ... here are the ones from that particular day:

Now, that’s a silver star day right there. But we’ve got a gold star ready to stick on the awesome day you’ll have today. Also on this day last year: The movie The Roommate is releasedColleges across the country report increased numbers of hysterical phone calls requesting single rooms. Snooki’s book, A Shore Thing, is publishedActual Amazon review: “I use to be Harvard inglish profeser. I reed this bok and now forgot how spel and use inglish.”

So simple, but I’m not joking when I say it’s the best email I get in the mornings. I also get Memolane which is similar, but Memolane will send updates from different spans of time. Somedays, I get last year, other days it's from 3 years ago.

If you haven’t tried it, sign up. If you have tried it—do you like it?
