Here at Atlantic Webworks, we are very lucky to be surrounded by incredibly talented people. Although “talented” to me is anyone who can walk and text at the same time. Real talk though: We’ve got a creative genius on board here.
We are pleased to announce that our very own senior designer, Scott Fray, has recently won the grand prize in the Airbrush category at the 2013 World Bodypainting Festival. The Festival, which takes place in Austria every year, invites hundreds of elite body artists from around the world to compete in a celebration of art and life. Seriously people, this is the Olympics of body painting.
This is Scott’s third win in a row on the world stage. In 2011, he and his partner, Madelyn Greco, won in the Brush/Sponge category. They won again in 2012 for Special Effects. Their three-peat is “historically unprecedented,” says Scott. Scott and Madelyn (Together they make the Living Brush Bodypainting team.) have won in each of the three major world categories.
This year, the theme for the final round of Airbrush was “Holy Geometry.” The jury panel judges each piece on quality, adherence to theme, impression, technical ability, and overall creativity.
A tremendous amount of prep work went into this win. Scott and his team have been planning for the WBF for over six months now. His first reaction to the win? “Now I can exhale.”
Along with bodypainting art, the WBF also hosts exhibitions of music, fashion, and more in the week-long event. Established in 1998, the Festival sees visitors from over 40 countries to the town of Pörtschach, a scenic backdrop for the incredible art on display.
