It's a “Social” Life.
I've seen the tremendous power of social media to transform a business through my professional work, but I have also found great benefit from social media personally. I'm very involved in the online community, am a blogger, and have developed an online community for parents of teens and tweens. This year, I was honored to be a finalist for a Shorty Award in the category of Mom in Social Media—even beating out Britney Spears on my way to the top! If you're not familiar, the Shorty's are an International award honoring the best of the best in the world of Twitter. My community of online peers has grown to include some amazing people in the Triad area, and a lot of them are like-minded women with a passion for technology and social media, especially among my friends on Twitter. We have such a rich and rewarding online relationship that two years ago, I thought it would be a great idea to get all of us together in person. I named our “group” the Broads Who Tweet (#BWT). A very tongue-in-cheek name for an amazing group of ladies.
Adrienne Cregar Jandler, who you all know as the President of Atlantic Webworks, is one of the women that I met through the Broads Who Tweet, and we became very close both professionally and personally. We have very similar views on a lot of things, and her opinion and trust is something that I have a lot of respect for. A few months ago, we started discussing how Atlantic Webworks' clients needed an option to be able to fully outsource their social media services. Twin City SAM clients were needing more customized web solutions and support. What would it be like if we were to blend our companies, pooling our expertise into a single firm? After a lot of conversation, we decided that the picture would look great. Not only for our clients, but for ourselves.
And now—it is official. Twin City SAM is now part of Atlantic Webworks. The division within the company is aptly named Atlantic Social Media Group and will provide social media strategy and a full suite of social media services for our clients including, but not limited to the following:
I am very excited to be part of this team and look forward to working with each of you—whether you're a current client or a future one. You will start to see quite a bit of me here on the blog as well as the other social channels of our company. If you have any questions or suggestions for “topics,” I'd love to hear them!
Looking forward to getting to know you!
